Safety communication at the University is principally via three routes:


·         The line management “chain of command”, from Staff, via internal Faculty systems to the Head of the Faculty/Institute/Center/Service, finally to the Executive Board.

·         The Faculty Safety Committee, to the University Safety Committee (USC), to the EB.

·         From any part of the University to the University Safety Office (USO).


All three routes can be entered at any level and all three routes offer two-way communications. The University Safety Office (USO) communicates with all parts of the University and is the primary route of communication with external bodies (such as İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Genel Müdürlüğü).


The University Safety Office (USO) also maintains an extensive list of health and safety and fire e-mail lists to facilitate communication on safety and fire matters for buildings, faculties and between individuals with similar safety interests.
